Water (1 quart)
Chopped ginger root (1/2 cup)
Ground cayenne pepper (1/4 teaspoon)
Sea salt (1/2 teaspoon)
Juice from a lemon or a lime (1 tablespoon)
Agave, honey or maple syrup (2 tablespoons)
Combine the salt, ginger, pepper and water. Bring to a boil for approximately 20 minutes.
Strain and add the lemon/lime juice and the sweetener.
Make sure the sweetener and the juice is not boiled.
Serves four people.
